Doll Body Assembly. There are many different ways to create this 'base' for your dress. I used
a block of fimo to shape a nice, rounded butt, flat stomach and upper thighs.
**NOTE I can't sculpt or even give you hints on how to do that (I leave that
to the experts!!). BUT I do know how to give the shape underneath clothing...and
thats all we are going on here. 1. If you are pouring greenware from this mold, you can adjust the head to any angle you wish. For my doll kits and doll blanks, they are straight as this is easier to dress. On the sample however I did more of a profile as I am also using this to sell at the Houston Show - so needed it 'Artsy'. 2. I rolled out a ball of fimo for butt first. Pushed the porcelain torso on it, and then indented a butt crevice and poked two holes in front for pipecleaner/thigh rolls. Bake. 3. When cool, I rolled out two logs for thighs, shoved a small piece of pipecleaner into each (cutting so it would fit into above holes in torso). Then poked a hole under knees for pipecleaner/porcelain legs. Bake. 4. Glue in thighs and legs, smoothing more fimo over any ridges so dress lays flat. 5. Now of course you can do the pipecleaner/wrap method...just make sure to make it VERY tight and smooth or the silk will be bumpy!! |

**HINTS** Smooth the tops of thighs into hips to form a nice 'ridge' for the skirt to lay on. Also crease a 'valley' between thighs for material to drape into. Don't have FLAT thigh tops it looks fake! |
